When do you use Agile? When is Scrum the best development method? And what actually are the differences? During the successful Meetup, Rob Eijgelshoven, project manager at ISAAC, and Roel Kerkhofs, product owner at Coosto, gave an exhaustive answer to these frequently asked questions.
What was it about?
During the Meetup, or actually pizza session, Rob shared his years of experience as a supervisor/coordinator of teams and Rob talked about all the ins and outs which a current product owner runs up against. The meeting focused on the question of how services, products and/or solutions can be provided as efficiently as possible. This takes into account the product owner on the one hand and the internal/external development team on the other hand.
The years of experience of both speakers were bundled and proved that Scrum is particularly powerful in internal product development. This is in contrast to Kanban, which is advisable when work is performed under assignment from an external party. Therefore, Coosto develops social media monitoring tools using Scrum as the most applicable project methodology, while ISAAC creates custom web solutions using Kanban as the best project approach.
During the Meetup there was sufficient space for interaction, where the above mentioned statements were tossed into the group and discussed in detail. Afterwards, drinks were organised where guests could ask advice about individual issues.
A successful first edition of Rob and Roel, and definitely well worth repeating!
