Duchenne Heroes 2017: Wheelers4Bram helps to rid the world of Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy
This week (17th to 23rd September) mountain bike team Wheelers4Bram, strengthened by ISAACus Jasper, cycles 700 kilometers within 7 days through Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The team has already collected € 33.000! At the end of their journey the total sum will be donated to the Duchenne Parent Project. This foundations makes sure the revenue of Wheelers4Bram and the sponsorship revenues collected from other Duchenne Heroes-teams are fully invested in the research of Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy.
ISAACus Jasper is a member of the Wheelers4Bram team. Jasper: "Children do not belong in wheelchairs, elevators or hoists. They should be enjoying life to the fullest. This is a cool challenge and it is a most grateful task to be doing this mountain bike tour for Bram and all other children who suffer from Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy." The team will finish Saturday 23rd in Eindhoven. Around 15.00 o'clock all teams will be festively hailed at the event terrain de Karpendonkse Plas.
Team wheelers4Bram cycles for Bram van Beeck. Bram is also a personal acquaintance of ISAAC. In 2016 he did a job taster at ISAAC's design department as part of his Design, Media and Technology education at the St Lucas institution in Eindhoven. It is very important a medicine is being developed which improves the quality of life for Duchenne patients, or even better, a cure is found. We hope that, just like Bram and all other children who suffer from Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy, research will lead to that.
